About Port Phillip BBQ Facilities

The City of Port Phillip has approximately 19 reserves with free electric BBQ facilities available for public use. All public BBQs in Port Phillip are electric and easy to operate.

Can I bring my own BBQ to parks in Port Phillip?

<p>On <strong>Total Fire Ban days</strong>, all barbecues using solid fuel (wood, charcoal, briquettes) are banned, including closed oven or kettle-type appliances.</p><p>Portable gas and electric BBQs may be used on fire ban days if:</p><ul><li>Located within 20 metres of a permanent dwelling (not mobile home/caravan/tent)</li><li>3 metre clearance around and above the BBQ</li><li>A hose or 10+ litres of water on hand</li><li>Drip tray used to catch debris</li></ul><p>On non-fire-ban days, personal BBQs are generally permitted with care.</p>

Can I book a BBQ facility for exclusive use?

<p>Public BBQ facilities in Port Phillip operate on a <strong>first-come, first-served</strong> basis and cannot be booked for exclusive use.</p>
